Macau
is a fascinating city called 'Las Vegas of
the Orient' or 'the Small Europe of Asia'.
There are considerable world heritage
sites everywhere in Macau, and you are
able to feel Europe and Asia at the same
time here.
The location and function of the island
has definitely facilitated many important
cultural exchanges between the east
and west in the field of the arts, science
and trade.

Macau based on my travel experience.

① Senado Square
'Must Visit Place in Macau'
Senado Square
has been Macau’s urban centre for
centuries & still a popular venue for
celebrations.
It is paved with a wave-patterned
mosaic coloured stones created by
the Portuguese.
The square is surrounded by beautiful
pastel coloured neo-classical buildings
with the former Senate building
just opposite the fountain.
② St. Dominic Church
'Must Visit Place in Macau'
You can meet a yellow church named
St. Dominic Church on the way to
the Ruins of St. Paul's from
Senado Square.
The St. Dominic Church
was founded in 1587 by three Spanish
Dominican priests who originally came
from Acapulco in Mexico.
This is the place where the first
Portuguese newspaper was
published in China.
Opening hours:
Daily 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
③ Ruins of St Paul's

The Ruins of St Paul’s
is a landmark of Macau Peninsula.
The Ruins of St Paul’s was originally
built in the 17th century, but it was
destroyed by fire in 1835.
What remains till today is the facade
of the Church & St Paul’s college.
Nowadays, the facade of the Ruins
of St. Paul’s functions symbolically
as an altar to the city.
④ Travessa da Paixao
'Must Visit Place in Macau'
Travessa da Paixão
is also known as Love Lane
with a history of 80 years.
The buildings in Travessa da Paixão
are artfully painted making it a nice
photo taking spots among tourists and
couples.
It is just located beside
Ruins of St Paul’s.
⑤ A-ma Temple
'Must Visit Place in Macau'
A-ma temple
dedicated to the seafarers’ goddess
dates from the early 16th century.
It is the most famous and oldest of
Macau's Chinese temples.
The A-Ma Temple was constructed during
the Ming Dynasty to commemorate Mazu,
the sea goddess.
The wishing Chinese are always full
in front of the stone statue at the end
of A-Ma temple.
Opening Hours :
7 am to 6 pm.
⑥ Taipa Village with Rua du Cunha

Named after Portuguese explorer
Tristão da Cunha, Rua du Cunha in
Taipa Village is a narrow street offering
a variety of delicious local food.
The short alley offers some of the
famous Macau eatery shops such as
Lord Stow, Gelatina Mok Yi Kei,
Seng Cheong Crab Porridge and
many more.
You can find many colorful buildings
all over Taipa Village, a good photo
spot in Macau Trip.
Crossing the road at the Galaxy Hotel,
you'll find this large yellow arch,
the beginning of Taipa Village.
⑦ Coloane Village

Not far from the Cotai Strip with many
luxury hotels, Coloane Village is a small
and quiet fishing village.
Coloane hosts many interesting sites,
and still maintains many of the
traditional ways of Macanese living.
Situated on the southern coasts of the
island, the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier
is a must-see attraction.
Sightseeing around Coloane Village can
be easily done on foot within a day.
You can taste famous Macau egg tart
at the original Lord Stow's Bakery
here in Coloane Village.
⑧ Eiffel Tower at Parisian

Enjoy the Eiffel Tower at Parisian
at Cotai Strip in Macau with the half
size of the original Eiffel Tower in Paris.
The panoramic view of Cotai of Macau
can be enjoyed from the Eiffel Tower
observation deck located on the 7th
and 37th floor.
In Le Jardin Park, next to the Sheraton
Hotel Sands Cotai Central, you can take
the great picture of the Eiffel Tower,
the full shot of the front of it.
⑨ Venetian Gondola

sunset each night.
The Performance Lake

fantastic view.
